The tournament began on the 21st of May 2010 comprising of four groups, (ABC&D) with BMA being considered by a sports analyst as a giant in group B. The group includes the National Elections Commission (NEC), Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs (MPEA), Bureau of Maritime Affairs (BMA), Ministry of Public Works (MPW) and the Liberia Institute and Statistics, Geo – Information Services (LISGIS). The BMA's plans to feature a kickball team were deferred. In conversation with the team manager, Mr. Randolph Dennis, he noted that the tournament is intended to bring oneness and comradeship amongst employees of government functionaries.

In a splendid performance in the first game between the Marine Strikers of BMA and the Bull Dozer of the Ministry of Public Works, the BMA displayed spectacular sportsmanship that saw the boys of the ocean making a lot of waves and taking the lead in a 2-1 win.

According to the Captain, Mr. Daysely Zulu, BMA’s victory sent a message to the Bull Dozers that it is business of traversing the world over the seven sea, hence, superior the performance by Marine Strikers. Not being satisfied with only one victory, the Marine Strikers then went into another battle of football with the Statistics boys of LISGIS in which the Ocean boys again won the match with 3 goals to 2.

Sitting comfortably with two victories and 6 points, it was time to test the front runner in a match and after 80 minutes into the game the boys of NEC known as Ballot took the day by whipping the Marine Strikers 4 – 2. The game between NEC and BMA was played under protest against the Ballot featuring players of 1st Division level which is against article X, section five (5) of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Rules and Regulations.

The tournament is also taking into consideration other sports such as, kickball and volleyball. So far, the Marine Strikers has won 2 out of 3 of the volleyball games and is also in good standing in points to qualify for the next round as this is just the Round Robin stage which qualifies a team to participate in the knockout stage.

Meanwhile, the BMA has received findings from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Grievance and Ethics Committee considering a complaint against player Patray Toe of the 1st Division club BYCFC of the Liberia Football Association (LFA). The investigation resulted in guilty verdict against player Toe who participated in the 2007 LFA league for BYCFC. In addition, he falls below the required age of 30 and above to qualify to play in the ongoing tournament. The BMA was then awarded 2 goals and 3 points putting her in the driver’s seat of group B with 9 points from three games.
