Scholarship Opportunities
The Bureau of Maritime Affairs (BMA) in support of the Republic of Liberia's Poverty Reduction Strategy, offers scholarships to qualified Liberians to study various disciplines in the maritime industry. These undergraduate fields include:
- Maritime Training and Education
- Port and Shipping Administration
- Marine Engineering
- Marine Electronics and Engineering
- Nautical Science
Post graduate study opportunities are also offered to qualified Liberians. These offers are granted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for studies in Maritime Law at the International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) in Malta as well as other traditional maritime disciplines in other institutions of higher learning over seas.
Candidates review and selections are made by BMA-designated panels. Academic excellence, aptitude test results and interviews are all considered when selecting candidates for scholarship opportunities.
